Christmas squeeze

I don't know about other writers but I'm just getting into my winter writing rhythmn when the part of Christmas I like least, eater of time and energy, wraps its hungry arms around me. Don't get me wrong, I love the spirit of Christmas, family dinners, twinkly lights, love, perfect gifts and all that jazz (though I'd die happy if I never saw another new spin on Dicken's The Christmas Carol!) So here's something to take some of the ba out of ba-humbug...

Pam's Twelve Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
A romance full of death and tragedy.

On the second day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Two hero's gay and a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the third day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
A three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the fourth day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the fifth day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the sixth day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the seventh day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Seven lads proposing, six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the eight day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Eight newborn babies, seven lads proposing, six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the ninth day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Nine murder headlines, eight newborn babies, seven lads proposing,
Six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the tenth day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Ten years a-passing, nine murder headlines, eight newborn babies,
Seven lads proposing, six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the eleventh day of Christmas my writing gave to me,
Eleven school yard crushes, ten years a-passing, nine murder headlines,
Eight newborn babies, seven lads proposing, six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of death and tragedy.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my writing took a dive,
Twelve happy endings, eleven school yard crushes, ten years a-passing,
Nine murder headlines, eight newborn babies, seven lads proposing, six chicks on spring break,
Five 'Dear Jane' letters.
Four plots that don't work, a three heroine cat-fight, two hero's gay,
And a romance full of love with all alive!

Love and Merry Makings to you all this Holiday Season, Pam Morris
